About Heather

Heather grew up in Cornwall and after finding an interest in science, the human body and sports and exercise at school and college, Heather moved to London to study Osteopathy.

After qualifying with a Masters degree from The British School of Osteopathy, Heather worked in London for several years before returning to Falmouth in 2018 to work as an Osteopath, where she has specialist interests in neck and back pain, sports injuries, musician injuries, care of the elderly, Osteoporosis/Osteopenia and hypermobility conditions.

During her time in London, Heather was first drawn to Pilates through having experienced various injuries of her own. After attending Pilates classes, and spending many hours of practise and having lots of interesting conversations with supportive and motivational teachers, Heather was inspired to undertake the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) matwork instructors course.

Heather is passionate about treating each person in the clinic and the studio as an individual - Pain, injury and medical history are unique to each person, and therefore, her approach to treatment and to teaching is the ability to adapt and tailor to the individual’s needs. Class numbers are kept small to allow for this to happen.

Heather has been a recreational sports person since a young age, trying a variety of different sports and forms of exercise including football, ballet, running and water sports. Currently she’s focusing on medium-distance running, gig rowing and strength training. Pilates training has provided Heather with personal benefits, but also in her professional life to gain a deeper understanding of exercise rehabilitation and movement retraining.

In her spare time, Heather enjoys practising Pilates (of course!), playing piano, dinner parties, outdoor pursuits and spending as much time in, on or next to the sea as possible.
